Everyday Is Like Sunday

This piece by Ashleigh Barron represents the lyrics to Morrissey’s track of the same name as a mass of greyscale blocks. Each letter of the alphabet has been assigned a shade of grey which reflects the themes of the song: repetition, blandness and frustration.”

Jonathan Yeun

Not only is this a beautiful website but the navigation system is unlike any other website I've seen.

Click here to check it out.

Alien Vs Predator

These ads by DDB, were run by SKY TV in New Zealand.

Genius!

The Baby Suit

This is just weird and disturbing!

Ron Mueck

These are some examples of the amazing sculptures by Australian sculptor Ron Mueck.

He started his career as a model maker and puppeteer on Jim Henson productions such as Fraggle Rock and Labyrinth.

In 1996 Mueck transitioned to fine art. His sculptures faithfully reproduce the minute detail of the human body, but play with scale to produce disconcertingly jarring visual images.

I was lucky enough to see an exhibition of his work in Edinburgh in 2006. The realism of his sculptures is amazing, you expect them to get up and move around at any moment.

Wine Bottle Labels

I love the minimalist design of these wine bottles. Less is more!

Designed by Nuria Herrero. See more of her work here.

Plastic Bottle Decanter

Plastic bottle decanter designed by GR Lab from Barcelona.

Cool idea and design but I can't help thinking that it's a bit redundant considering that it's not that difficult to pour liquid from a plastic bottle.

Digital Wallpaper

This digital wallpaper was created by Strukt Design Studio who are a design agency specialising in interactive media installations for events and exhibitions. Using video projectors they can project directly onto a wall creating amazing visual effects.

I love the way the decor and the mood of a room can be easily changed simply by projecting different colours, shapes or animations.

Check out the video to see it in action.

inspired!

I have created this blog as part of my Visual Communication and Media Design course that I am studying at Abertay University in Dundee.

I will use the blog as a kind of online scrapbook where I can collect any designs or artwork that inspires me, as well as any other cool stuff I might come across.
